Doctors Join Fight Against Prescription Drug Abuse

Roneet Lev, MD, emergency medicine physician at Scripps Mercy Hospital, was interviewed for an article in the U-T San Diego on what San Diego physicians are doing to combat prescription drug abuse.

In her interview Dr. Lev shared details on a new task force that she chairs, Prescription Drug Medical Task Force, and the need for San Diego physicians to work together under stricter prescribing guidelines.

“This is a societal problem and the medical community plays a piece,” Dr. Lev shared. “Medications are very helpful, but they can become a poison when not taken correctly.”
