Scripps CEO's Book Featured in La Jolla Light Article

Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder’s new book is as much a “tale of triumph over adversity” as a collection of leadership and management lessons, according to a report by the La Jolla Light.

The Front-Line Leader tells the story of how Van Gorder helped bring Scripps back from the brink of bankruptcy and internal strife by putting people (particularly employees) first and making genuine connections with them, according to the article.

“It’s not rocket science,” he told the newspaper. “When you have employees who feel cared for, they tend to care more for themselves, and for the organization that provides their paycheck.”
