Technology will remodel doctor-patient relationship, make it better

As technology turns the smartphones that most people carry in their pockets or purses into powerful medical devices, the bond between patient and doctor is changing, Scripps Health Chief Academic Officer and cardiologist Eric Topol, MD, told the Washington Post.


“We’re not going to lose the patient bond, but we’re going to remodel it and make it better,” said Dr. Topol, who also is director of the Scripps Translational Science Institute.
