Scripps Volunteer Medical Team to Hold Mariachi Festival Fundraiser May 21

M.O.S.T. has provided life-changing surgeries to more than 10,000 people in Mexico

Happy-Baby. Scripps Health.

The Fifth Mercy Outreach Surgical Team (M.O.S.T.) Mariachi Festival, presented by Scripps Mercy Hospital Foundation, will be held Saturday, May 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kitchens for Good at the Jacobs Center in southeastern San Diego.

The event will feature Mexican cuisine, live Mariachi music, folkloric dancers, silent auction and an opportunity to fund a surgery for someone in great need. Proceeds will benefit M.O.S.T. at Scripps Mercy Hospital (San Diego and Chula Vista), a volunteer medical organization that helps people — primarily children — in need of surgical care in Mexico.

The organization relies on philanthropy to conduct its weeklong missions in central and southern Mexico, where it corrects cleft lips and palates, fixes missing ears and crossed eyes and treats other conditions. More than 10,000 patients have been served since M.O.S.T. formed in 1988.

Tickets are $75 per person. For more information about the event, tickets, sponsorship or donating auction items, please contact specialevents@scrippshealth.org, 858-678-7174 or visit www.scripps.org/mostfestival. The Jacobs Center is located at 404 Euclid Ave.
