Scripps Mercy San Diego’s Outreach Surgical Team Featured in Univision’s Primer Impacto

Spanish-language Univision’s Primer Impacto TV news program recently aired a story about the volunteer work of the Scripps-led Mercy Outreach Surgical Team, M.O.S.T., in Mexico.

The Primer Impacto broadcast followed other recent news coverage about the medical missionary team.

M.O.S.T., which formed in the late 1980s, relies on donations to continue its annual visits to Mexico to provide free, corrective and life-changing surgeries to children with cleft lips, cleft palates, burn scars and other disfiguring conditions. In May, the fifth annual M.O.S.T. Mariachi Festival raised a record $189,000 and was mentioned in the San Diego Business Journal.

Scripps Health also recently released an English-language video on its YouTube station about M.O.S.T, a community benefit program of Scripps, and its long history of improving lives.
