The Scripps Translational Science Institute (STSI) will receive nearly $120 million over five years from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to help enroll and track 1 million Americans in the federal government’s massive Precision Medicine Initiative, the most ambitious medical research program in the history of American medicine.

NIH Director Francis Collins told The San Diego Union-Tribune that the effort will “ultimately revolutionize the practice of medicine.”

STSI is led by Scripps Health in collaboration with The Scripps Research Institute.
