After just a few months of use, a pharmacy data analytics system has helped Scripps Health identify $1 million in cost savings from purchasing and using lower-cost medications, according to a recent HealthLeaders article.

Kenny Scott, executive director of pharmacy operations at Scripps, told the publication that cost control has become a high priority at health systems across the country, and better analysis of pharmaceutical data can help.

The new analytics system is being piloted at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego and Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.
