Effort to prevent disease will receive Medicare coverage

Athena Philis- Tsimikas, MD, corporate vice president of the Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute, was recently interviewed by KPBS and inewsource for a series of reports about efforts to prevent diabetes by working with people who test positive for prediabetes.


The reports featured an early program launched by Scripps that provides special group classes on nutrition, weight loss and lifestyle to prediabetes patients.
