Journalist discharged after days in ICU on ventilator

San Diego Union-Tribune columnist Diane Bell recently used her regular space in the newspaper to thank doctors, nurses and other staff and employees at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for getting her through a 12-day stay at the hospital battling COVID-19.

“All I can do is salute the committed medical people who are willing to fight against COVID-19 to save the lives of others,” Bell wrote. “Their dedication is beyond heroic.”
