Diabetes institute is leader in research, patient care

Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute was recently featured in a San Diego Union-Tribune article about the 40th anniversary of the opening of the clinic.


Since 1982, Scripps Whittier has led the way in research that has helped to revolutionize the treatment and care of patients with diabetes.


The article featured comments from Scripps Whittier Corporate Vice President Athena Philis-Tsimikas, MD, and patient Zach Leigh, who as a child participated in the dedication and opening of the institute.
