National Girls and Women in Sports Day is Feb. 1 and CBS 8 News interviewed Laika Nur, MD, about the many health benefits of sports participation. Dr. Nur also shared that female athletes have a heightened risk for certain types of sports-related injuries and discussed practical strategies to help prevent them. Dr. Nur is a sports medicine specialist with Scripps Clinic.
