Biography
A sports medicine specialist, Laika Nur, MD, cares for patients of all abilities from weekend warriors to elite athletes. She treats adults as well as pediatric and adolescent athletes.
Dr. Nur believes musculoskeletal medicine is quality-of-life medicine and maintaining an active lifestyle is essential to overall physical and mental health. She seeks to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care that includes treatment recommendations for the current issue and a long-term plan for future prevention, so that athletes of all ages can optimize performance at any level.
Dr. Nur began practicing medicine in 2017 and has a special interest in diagnostic ultrasound, ultrasound-guided procedures and bone health. She has taught and precepted medical students, residents and fellows, presented at national conferences and authored a book chapter on sports medicine. Her research interests include clinical outcomes of interventions using biologics, bone health, and mental health in athletes.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys supporting her Chicago teams from afar, playing beach volleyball, hiking, cooking and trying new restaurants.
