Scripps CEO sees a ‘deck of cards’ falling in D.C.

Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder recently penned a commentary for MedPage Today that laid out the critical financial risks facing hospitals across the country as Congress looks to make major budget cuts to a wide range of programs, including government-funded health insurance. 


“If Congress reduces reimbursement further, forces more patients into being uninsured, or reduces and eliminates Medicaid supplemental reimbursements, safety-net hospitals nationwide will have no choice but to shut down programs or close completely,” he wrote.
