Unusual spontaneous pregnancy beat one-in-10,000 odds

A year ago, Stacie Radia was celebrating the holidays with her fiancé. This year, she’ll be marking her first Christmas with her new family of five — including her husband Neal and their newborn triplets.

The three baby girls were born two months ago when Stacie became pregnant just a few weeks after going off contraceptives and not long after she and Neal married in March.

Her doctor, Scripps Medical Director of Perinatology Sean Daneshmand, MD, said Stacie navigated the high-risk pregnancy like a “rockstar.”

Dr. Daneshmand and the Oceanside family were recently featured in several media stories about the unusual births, which had a one in 10,000 chance of happening.
