Coast News covers Joe Tarka’s comeback story
September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and the Coast News recently covered the comeback story of Joe Tarka, who is back to playing adult league baseball after successful prostate cancer care at Scripps Cancer Center. Tarka, 78, received care from a multidisciplinary team, including surgeon Ramdev Konijeti, MD, radiation therapist Prabhakar Tripuraneni, MD and internal medicine physician David Ko, MD. Now cancer-free for three years, Tarka shared his story to help encourage men to stay active, eat healthy and seek medical attention promptly when health concerns arise.
