Fox 5 interviews researcher and participant
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Fox 5 News recently spotlighted a study designed to help breast cancer survivors start and maintain exercise routines after they complete treatments. Research shows that increased physical activity may reduce the likelihood of breast cancer recurrence, but most survivors don’t meet recommended exercise levels.
Scripps Cancer Center is in the final phases of a pilot study that looks to fill that gap by offering motivational coaching and personalized exercise tips to breast cancer survivors. Joining Fox 5 to discuss the study were principal investigator Ann Kuo, MD, of Scripps Cancer Center, along with participant Michele Baptista.
