KUSI Explores Breast Reconstruction Options After Mastectomy

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed in October and Chris Reid, MD, of Scripps Cancer Center, joined KUSI-TV to discuss women’s options for breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Dr. Reid discussed various surgical techniques, including use of the patient’s own tissue from another part of the body to reconstruct the breast. This autologous option can often produce a more natural look and feel than other approaches.
