Scripps physician, patient featured in new documentary
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, NBC 7 anchor Monica Dean interviewed a Scripps radiation oncologist and a breast cancer survivor to learn about treatment advances and the work still ahead. Thomas Buchholz, MD, and his patient Carrie Steele also discussed their roles in an upcoming documentary film, “Conquering Breast Cancer,” which will debut later this year.
Carrie underwent successful treatments for advanced breast cancer at Scripps and is now cancer free, healthy and giving back by helping newly diagnosed patients. Dr. Buchholz is medical director of Scripps Cancer Center and is a Scripps Clinic physician and researcher.
