Biography

Family medicine physician Richard Onishi, MD, provides comprehensive primary care for the whole family, focusing on preventive care. Dr. Onishi is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based medicine. He enjoys spending time with his patients and developing long-term relationships with them. The more he gets to know his patients, the better he can help them manage their health and well-being.


Dr. Onishi has 20 years of experience as a primary care provider for diverse populations, practicing in hospitals, outpatient clinics and nursing homes. In his previous positions, he has served as a clinic medical director, a member of the board of directors and been active on various clinic committees integral to quality of care and patient experience. He has expertise managing complex and chronic conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension. 


Dr. Onishi is committed to fitness and hopes to inspire his patients. His healthy lifestyle includes various fitness regimes, including functional and high-intensity workouts. Dr. Onishi also enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
