Biography
Jenny Lam, MD, is a transplant surgeon with Scripps Center for Organ and Cell Transplantation. She specializes in abdominal organ transplantation, including liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, as well as hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery. She is particularly interested in minimally invasive surgical approaches and the comprehensive management of end-stage organ failure.
Dr. Lam is dedicated to delivering personalized, compassionate and evidence-based care. Her approach centers on understanding each patient’s unique needs and goals while fostering open communication and collaboration with the care team. She is deeply committed to achieving high-quality outcomes and guiding patients and their families through every step of the transplant journey.
Her research focuses on clinical outcomes, with an emphasis on improving patient care through health system optimization and expanding access to transplantation. Dr. Lam has authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals in the field of transplantation. In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Lam is passionate about medical education and mentorship. She enjoys teaching residents, sharing her expertise and enthusiasm for surgery.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lam enjoys spending time with family, nurturing her large plant collection and exploring the beauty of the San Diego coast through photography.
