Biography
John Kelso, MD, has been a practicing allergist for over twenty years and has kept up-to-date with new treatments for allergic diseases by regular attendance at medical conferences and actively maintaining board certifications. He treats a comprehensive range of conditions in both children and adults including asthma, nasal allergies, eczema, hives, and allergic reactions to foods, drugs, and stinging insects. Dr. Kelso also has a special interest in allergic reactions to vaccines and has led an effort to allow patients with egg allergy to safely receive influenza vaccines.
Dr. Kelso believes that his patient’s time is valuable and makes every effort to see patients on time. By scheduling appointments at appropriate intervals, Dr. Kelso is able to take the time to thoroughly listen to each patient’s concerns. He encourages patients to be active partners in their healthcare, which requires careful explanation of their condition, the proposed treatments and what to expect. He also encourages follow up appointments to ensure that treatment goals are being met.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, including his two miniature dachshunds and traveling. He is also a two time Ironman triathlon finisher and still enjoys swimming, biking and running.
