As a rheumatologist, Manisha Kumar, DO, cares for patients with a broad spectrum of rheumatologic and autoimmune diseases. She has special clinical interests in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and osteoporosis.
Dr. Kumar believes in working as a team with her patients and their referring physicians to achieve the best possible outcome for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal disease management and prevention.
She received a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996 and a doctoral degree in osteopathic medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California in 2000. She completed her internal medicine training at White Memorial Medical Center in 2003, before coming to Scripps Clinic for fellowship training in rheumatology. She has been a member of the Scripps Clinic Medical Group division of rheumatology since completion of her fellowship in 2006. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Rheumatology, the American College of Physicians, and the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California.
In her spare time she enjoys running, skiing, golf, cooking, travel and spending time with her husband and two children.
