Biography

Dr. Mark Sherman specializes in advanced laparoscopy and surgical oncology. He is skilled in endocrine (thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal) surgery and complex, advanced laparoscopic techniques (colectomy, appendectomy, splenectomy and hernia repair), as well as unique procedures including heated chemotherapy, TIF procedures to eliminate acid reflux and robotic procedures. He stays at the forefront of the most advanced techniques and procedures to best meet the needs of his patients.


Dr. Sherman has practiced at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla since 1994, and was the chief of surgery as well as the chief of general surgery for the hospital. He has served as director of the Scripps Polster Breast Care Center and was a member of the Scripps Health Board of Trustees.


Dr. Sherman has been selected as one of San Diego’s Top Doctors by San Diego Magazine. He welcomes new patients.
