Biography
Elizabeth Silverman, MD, provides treatment for a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic (OB-GYN) issues including menopausal concerns, abnormal Pap smear management, abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts.
Dr. Silverman is experienced in both the medical and surgical management of common women’s health issues. She offers non-surgical solutions or minimally invasive surgical procedures for her patients when possible.
With more than 20 years of experience providing health care for women, Dr. Silverman has developed a patient-centered approach to both obstetric and gynecologic care. One of her priorities is that patients understand the medical advice they are given, as well as the available options for management of their concerns. She believes an active partnership between physician and patient is essential to successful health care and long-term wellness.
In addition to general gynecology, Dr. Silverman is experienced in guiding expectant mothers through pregnancy and delivery. This includes low-risk, healthy pregnancies and more complex pregnancies, such as the delivery of twins or pregnancy in the presence of a medical condition such as diabetes or hypertension. She is also an expert in various methods of contraception. For those who are struggling to become pregnant, she is experienced in offering guidance to enhance fertility as well as referrals to infertility specialists when needed.
Dr. Silverman believes the best patient care comes from a relationship based on mutual respect between the patient and the caregiver. She believes that patients should take an active role in their health care from beginning to end. She feels it is her responsibility to provide patients with the information to make informed decisions and to empower them to take ownership of becoming and staying healthy.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Silverman enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and reading. She also enjoys thinking about new places to travel or new recipes to try.
