Scripps Health has played an important role in the evolution of San Diego’s Torrey Pines Mesa scientific hub since its earliest days when Ellen Browning Scripps founded the Scripps Metabolic Clinic in 1924.

Today, the two-mile stretch along the Southern California coastline is home to numerous world-renowned research centers, five active Nobel laureates, 45 of the world’s most influential scientists and 26,000 workers, according to a recent report by the UT San Diego.

The mesa’s tenants include Scripps Green Hospital, Scripps Clinic and the Scripps Translational Science Institute, which is leading the way in genomics and wireless health research.
