Scripps Cardiologist Ranked Among World's Most Influential Scientists

Eric Topol, MD, featured in coverage of Thomson-Reuters annual listing

A new trade agreement hammered out between the United States and China could boost the competitive positions of San Diego area medical technology companies.

Scripps Health Chief Academic Officer Eric Topol, MD, was among 41 people from San Diego named among the most influential researchers in the world, according to a recent report from the San Diego Union-Tribune.


Dr. Topol also directs the Scripps Translational Science Institute and is a practicing cardiologist with Scripps Clinic.


The list by Thomson-Reuters recognized scientists whose work was highly cited by other researchers between 2003 and 2013.
