Drive aims to enroll volunteers to help save lives of blood cancer patients

KUSI-TV recently interviewed James Mason, MD, of Scripps Clinic about a series of bone marrow donor drive events planned in August. Co-hosted by Scripps Health and Be The Match, the drive aims to register donors who can potentially be matched with blood cancer patients who are in need of a bone marrow of peripheral blood stem cell transplant.

Joining Dr. Mason for the interview was Michelle Meyer of Scripps Health, who demonstrated with KUSI-TV news anchor Lisa Remillard the simple “cheek swab” process that’s involved in joining the registry.
