Tobacco taxes dedicated to health care workforce gets attention

A $360,00 grant recently given to Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego will help to keep doctors who train in San Diego within the community, according to media coverage of the award.


The funding from the state’s CalMedForce program will support two internal medicine residency positions at the hospital in 2020.
