Media Spotlight on Lung Cancer Screening Program at Scripps

November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month and multiple news outlets covered the Jana Oliphant Hackett Lung Cancer Screening Program at Scripps Cancer Center. Program medical director Samir Makani, MD, explained the need for greater public participation, as less than 20% of eligible Americans are up to date with their recommended lung cancer screenings. And the program’s nurse practitioner, Andie De Benedictis, discussed the importance of detecting lung cancer early, when survival rates are highest.
