January is National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month and multiple news outlets covered the story of Farrah Adams, who is now in remission after completing treatments for stage 3 disease at Scripps Cancer Center. Adams urged women to keep current with their cervical cancer screenings and to see their doctor when unusual symptoms occur.
Her physician, Jo Marie Tran Janco, MD, shared recent treatment advances that are improving outcomes for cervical cancer patients. Dr. Janco is director of the gynecologic cancer program at Scripps Cancer Center and is a Scripps Clinic physician.
