Programs at Scripps support mental and physical health

10News recently interviewed Sean Danesmand, MD, about the brain’s powerful and far-reaching impact on human health. Dr. Daneshmand provides specialized care for expectant moms with high-risk pregnancies and he has initiated several programs at Scripps to support patients’ physical and mental well-being during a stressful time.

His clinic at Scripps offers a dedicated nurse navigator to quickly answer patients’ questions and help with tests, appointments and other needs. He also launched a fourth trimester program to help new moms with chronic health conditions keep their own physical and mental health on track after delivery.

And to expand access to care for underserved communities, Scripps partners with San Ysidro Health to offer high-risk pregnancy services to their community clinic patients. Dr. Daneshmand is medical director of maternal-fetal medicine at Scripps Clinic.
