Dr. Stephen Unterberg is a general urologist who specializes in complex voiding dysfunction, male and female urinary incontinence, pelvic floor reconstruction (prolapse) and neuro-urology.
Dr. Unterberg treats patients suffering from all Urologic conditions. He has a particular interest in men and women with complex bladder and voiding dysfunction. While in his fellowship working at a large tertiary referral hospital, he was able to focus his training on treating patients with complex overactive bladders, stress urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, vaginal and urethral mesh complications as well as management of patients with neurologic conditions. Finally, his fellowship training has allowed him to become proficient in treating patients with various lower and upper urinary tract reconstructive needs.
During his training, Dr. Unterberg has published and presented numerous peer reviewed articles on reconstruction as well as female urology, including the dilemma of mesh placement in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Unterberg enjoys treating the population of San Diego County in providing his expertise in managing patients with both simple and complex urologic needs.
