Andre Aung, MD, is an ophthalmologist who practices comprehensive ophthalmology while also specializing in neuro-ophthalmology.
In addition to performing cataract surgery, Dr. Aung performs many procedures including selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) and laser capsulotomies. He also sees and manages a variety of comprehensive eye diseases such as glaucoma and dry eyes, along with providing thorough screening for diseases such as diabetes and age-related macular degeneration.
In his neuro-ophthalmology practice, Dr. Aung manages patients with double vision, diseases of the optic nerve, vision loss and visual field defects, encompassing diseases and conditions such as papilledema, thyroid eye disease, myasthenia gravis, optic neuritis, pupil abnormalities as well as strokes or brain tumors with visual symptoms.
He continues to be an active member of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS).
Dr. Aung believes in taking the time to listen to his patients, offering evidence-based treatments and collaborating with his colleagues to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
In his free time, Dr. Aung enjoys playing tennis and golf along with trying new restaurants and traveling.
