Michelle Higginson, MD

Michelle Higginson, MD, is an internal medicine provider, who has been with Scripps since 1999. She has worked both in the hospital and outpatient medical offices. She currently serves as the Director of Medical Education at Scripps Mercy Hospital, overseeing the Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Transitional Year and Podiatry Residency programs.  

She ensures that medical students and residents receive a high-quality education in a supportive learning environment. She especially enjoys working closely with residents and mentoring them as they grow into skilled, compassionate physicians. Dr. Higginson also values time spent with patients and views medicine as an opportunity to help others while nurturing positive change in the community.  

Her interests outside of work include gardening, running, traveling and spending time with her husband and children.
