Biography
Bahrom Firozgary, MD, is a sports medicine doctor who treats patients of all activity levels and age groups. As a former division I basketball player, Dr. Firozgary advocates that motion is medicine and thus strives to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to help his patients reach their health and fitness goals. He treats patients of any activity level for their new or old musculoskeletal injuries.
Some of the in-office procedures that he performs include ultrasound-guided injections using biologics (like platelet-rich plasma - PRP), hyaluronic acid (HA), and cortisone in addition to ultrasound-guided tenotomies.
He actively participates as a member of multiple national sports medicine organizations to stay up to date with the latest advances in the field. Dr. Firozgary also presents research and guest lectures at international interdisciplinary sports conferences. He has a passion for teaching, whether it be educating his patients and their families or mentoring medical students, residents and fellows.
Dr. Firozgary has experience providing care to recreational through professional athletes, including his role as a physician for professional athletes. Dr. Firozgary served as assistant physician for the Professional Golfing Association, Major League Soccer and National Women’s Soccer League teams, NCAA division I sports teams and athletes.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Firozgary enjoys playing and watching sports, experiencing new cultures through travel, spending quality time with family, and exploring San Diego’s beautiful outdoors.
