Biography

Internist Spencer Hirt, DO, provides comprehensive primary care services to adults, focusing on preventive medicine and wellness. Dr. Hirt has a special interest in obesity medicine and enjoys a good diagnostic mystery. He is also passionate about medical education and has received numerous awards for teaching.

His goal is to guide and inform his patients, helping them to take ownership of their health with confidence. Recognizing that every patient’s story is unique, Dr. Hirt believes that the best care is built on a partnership between the physician and the patient. His background as a naval officer has helped shape a broad perspective and hard-working attitude that shows up in his practice. Known for his dry humor and clear, honest communication, Dr. Hirt is dedicated to listening to his patients and considering their preferences and opinions.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Hirt enjoys spending time with his wife and children — often traveling to baseball games, theater and karate practices, as well as taking care of their dogs. He also enjoys distance running, watching college football and Padres baseball.
