In practice since 2005, Matthew J. Levine, MD, is an endocrinologist with clinical interests in diabetes, thyroid disease and bone metabolism. He also practices transgender endocrinology and has incorporated the science and guidelines-driven practice behind this into the curriculum of the fellowship training program at Scripps Clinic.
In addition to his clinical practice, he is dedicated to the education of physicians-in-training, serving as the program director of the Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Fellowship training program at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital. He is also the current president of the Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology and Metabolism (APDEM), which is an association dedicated to supporting endocrinology fellowship training nationwide.
Dr. Levine is a member of multiple professional societies, including the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) where he serves on the Board of Directors of the latter. He is a past president of what used to be the California chapter of AACE.
He believes that an active, healthy lifestyle is the key to successful outcomes.
