Diagnostic radiologist Symphorosa Williams, MD, provides imaging services with a specific focus on breast imaging and breast care management. Dr. Williams offers a wide range of diagnostic services, including ultrasound imaging, nuclear medicine and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, to aid in the diagnosis of malignant and benign diseases.
She feels strongly that honesty and compassionate communication are an essential part of any doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Williams strives to provide the best possible care while minimizing patient stress.
Since joining Scripps Clinic in 2002, Dr. Williams has held a variety of leadership roles and currently serves as head of the ultrasound division. She is also actively involved in resident and medical student education.
Dr. Williams was named one of San Diego Magazine’s Top Doctors in diagnostic radiology in 2015. Additionally, she is a member of the Radiological Society of North America; the American College of Radiology; the American Roentgen Ray Society; the California Radiological Society; the Los Angeles Radiological Society; the San Diego Radiological Society; the American Association of Women in Radiology; and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Williams enjoys traveling, scuba diving and sailing locally and internationally. She also enjoys music, attending the theatre and reading.
