Kelly Van Den Heuvel, MD

As an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB-GYN), Kelly Van den Heuvel, MD, provides complete gynecologic and obstetric care. She has clinical interests in menopausal care, genetic and cancer screenings, infertility, and contraception. In addition, she performs gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and minimally invasive robotic surgery.

Dr. Van den Heuvel believes in developing strong relationships with patients and their families. She encourages active engagement in all aspects of care and decision-making. Having trained in a university setting, with high-risk specialists, she understands the importance of fostering a safe environment, while respecting her patients’ preferences.

She actively continues her education and stays abreast of new technologies through annual meetings, online courses and hands-on training. She is a member of the San Diego Medical Society and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

A native of New York, she has lived in San Diego since 2008. She enjoys travel, speaking French, performing taiko, and spending time with friends and family.

She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

Dr. Van den Heuvel is a member of Scripps Clinic Fifth Avenue Ob/Gyn, which was formerly known as San Diego Ob/Gyn Medical Group.
