Alicia Benjamin, MD, is a member of the Private Internal Medicine Center (PIMC) at Scripps Clinic, a concierge medical practice that provides specialized primary care services to a limited number of patients who pay a fixed annual fee. Prior to joining Scripps, she practiced at a large multi-specialty medical group for 21 years and also served as a regional medical director and a lead physician.
As an internal medicine specialist, Dr. Benjamin provides comprehensive primary care with special clinical interests in diabetes, geriatrics, anxiety and depression, preventive medicine and women’s health. She is also experienced in caring for patients with complex health issues and enjoys solving challenging diagnostic puzzles.
Dr. Benjamin believes that an effective patient-physician relationship requires an open line of communication and active listening. She enjoys getting to know her patients and working to improve both their emotional and physical well-being.
Throughout her career she has been honored with many accolades and awards, including being named as one of San Diego’s Top Doctors for the past nine years.
In her spare time she enjoys collecting early California art, gardening, boating and watching her daughters play college sports.
