Biography

Nicholas Olson, MD, is a cardiologist specializing in the detection and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, or arrhythmias. He has clinical expertise in cardiac ablation for arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. In addition to ablation, he treats arrhythmias using implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD) and pacemakers. Other procedures include left atrial appendage closure to prevent blood clots and strokes, implantable loop recorders to monitor patients with atrial fibrillation, and laser extractions for the removal of infected or malfunctioning pacemaker and ICD leads. Dr. Olson also treats patients with heart failure using specialized biventricular pacemakers known as chronic resynchronization therapy (CRT).

In addition to his clinical practice, he conducts research on the development of novel techniques and technologies for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrhythmias.

Dr. Olson believes in providing his patients with the latest knowledge and therapeutic techniques. He takes the time to thoroughly explain diagnosis and treatment options, so patients can understand their disease and what to expect from treatment. He encourages his patients to ask questions and be an active participant in the healing process.

When he is not caring for patients, he enjoys playing tennis and is an avid surfer.
