Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac TransplantCardiovascular Disease

Biography

Rajeev Mohan, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who cares for patients with heart failure. Dr. Mohan specializes in identifying patients who are candidates for advanced therapies such as left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and heart transplantation. He also works closely with patients after receiving these therapies to ensure they continue to be successful with their medical care.

Additionally, Dr. Mohan cares for patients with rare conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and amyloid cardiomyopathy. By using the latest technologies, including a variety of imaging modalities and implantable hemodynamic monitors, he uses the information gathered to determine the best possible treatment course.

Dr. Mohan believes that successful patient care centers on developing a trusting relationship with his patients and their families. He strives to ensure all his patients’ questions and concerns are addressed during each visit and that they leave knowing that together they have developed the best possible treatment plan.

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Mohan has participated in research to utilize echocardiography as a noninvasive tool to estimate fluid levels in heart failure patients. This research can lead to the use of fewer invasive procedures during treatment. He continues to be active in clinical research, particularly in the area of advanced heart failure and LVADs, presenting his research at various national and international medical conferences.

When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Mohan enjoys spending time hiking, running and playing at the park with his wife and children.
