Making sure students are up to date on shots can help prevent outbreaks

With kids starting to return to school this month, Scripps Clinic family medicine specialist Mark Shalauta, MD, recently appeared on KUSI TV to discuss vaccinations that are required for children starting kindergarten and other shots that are recommended for older kids. 


 Staying up to date with vaccinations is important for keeping kids healthy and in classes, as well as avoiding larger outbreaks that could spread in the community, Dr. Shalauta said.
