Andrew Sapthavee, MD, is an otolaryngologist who specializes in head and neck surgery for both adults and children. Known as “Dr. Sap” by his staff and patients, his surgical expertise includes sinonasal/septoplasty surgery, excision of masses such as lipomas/osteomas of the head and neck, reconstruction of Mohs surgery defects and more.
He believes patients should be involved in their own health care decisions and make educated choices about their care. When discussing potential treatments, he ensures patients understand their options and the risks and benefits of each, and welcomes sharing the decision-making process.
During his education and training, he became interested in otolaryngology — head and neck surgery as the specialty blends a wide range of disciplines including facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric otolaryngology, otology (ear disorders), rhinology (nose and sinus disorders) and laryngology (voice and swallowing disorders). This allows otolaryngologists to focus on areas of personal interest and expertise. He especially enjoys seeing how surgical treatments often lead to immediate and noticeable improvements in his patients' conditions and overall quality of life. Dr. Sap finds it professionally rewarding to go through that process with his patients.
Dr. Sap graduated in the top of his class earning induction into the AΩA Honor Society and has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals with topics ranging from nasal reconstruction techniques to pseudo-sudden deafness.
Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, as well as playing pickleball and golf.
