Kayvan Kazerouni, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon who cares for patients needing open heart surgery. He specializes in procedures involving the aorta, treatment for atrial fibrillation, coronary artery bypass surgery and heart valve surgery.
Dr. Kazerouni is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care and helping patients feel informed and supported throughout their treatment. In addition to caring for patients, he has published research on topics including minimally invasive aneurysm repair and improving outcomes for aortic dissection.
He was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society, and remains active in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association. Outside of medicine, Dr. Kazerouni enjoys surfing off the La Jolla coast, where he grew up.
