Scripps Encinitas offers hospital and emergency care in Northern San Diego County

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County’s coastal communities since 1978. We’re located at Santa Fe Drive and I-5, within walking distance of a park, fitness center, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.

Our services

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas shares a campus with many physician offices and medical buildings, including Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center


We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit


And several of our programs, including heart failure, heart attack, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, stroke, pneumonia, diabetes, maternity care (uncomplicated pregnancy), leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma have been ranked as “high performing” by U.S. News & World Report.

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is located on a busy medical campus. Below you’ll find tips to make your visit as seamless as possible.

Directions and parking

You can enter the Scripps Encinitas campus in several ways. Our main entrance at 354 Santa Fe Drive, located at a traffic light, brings you in front of the hospital. There is a separate emergency room entrance farther down Santa Fe Drive, near the roundabout at Santa Fe and Devonshire Drive. You can also access the hospital and other medical buildings from Devonshire Drive.

Visiting hours and guidelines

General hospital visiting times are 8 am - 8:30 pm, but may be adjusted based on the patient’s needs or wishes. Learn more about our hospital visitation policy, including guidelines for children and service animals.

Gift shop

Nursing Nook and Mother’s Boutique

The Family Birth Pavilion at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas features two breastfeeding supply stores. 


  • Nursing Nook — located in the birth pavilion is open every day from 9 am - 4 pm.
  • Mother’s Boutique, Encinitas — is located in the 310 building, suite 104. The boutique is conveniently open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from Noon - 4 pm.
