Saving lives through transplantation

For more than 20 years, our medical team has provided expert care to people in need of life-saving organ transplants and blood or marrow transplants in one of southern California’s premier transplant centers. In 1980, Scripps developed the first blood and bone marrow transplant (BMT) program in San Diego, and was one of the first in the nation to administer bone marrow stem cell transplantation. In 1990, San Diego’s first liver transplant program was developed by Scripps Clinic.

With decades of experience and leadership, Scripps Clinic transplant surgeons and support teams offer you and your loved ones compassionate, expert care along every step of your journey.

Through innovative treatments and rigorous research, our transplant programs have amassed one of the longest-established records in the nation for high quality care.

Our approach to transplants

Our approach to transplants

At Scripps Clinic, we treat the person, not the illness. Our patient-centered approach combines a multidisciplinary team with the most advanced treatments and technology available in San Diego and beyond.

We are now offering Video Visits for some specialty care appointments. If you are interested in scheduling a Video Visit, contact the provider’s office directly. The doctor’s office will work with you to determine if this is the right type of visit for you.
